NEEDHAM — Needham Police Department is seeking assistance to identify a person of interest in connection with a series of package thefts from porches in the vicinity of Pollard Middle School early this morning.

Authorities say the thefts occurred around 2:15 a.m. and involved an individual who was captured on security footage.

Police are urging residents to review their security camera footage, particularly if their systems registered movement around the time of the thefts.

The department has released an image of the suspect, who can be seen carrying a reusable Roche Brothers bag, a detail they hope will aid in identification.

The Needham Police are asking anyone with information or relevant video footage to come forward to help the investigation.

Community members with potential leads are encouraged to direct message the department with any details that could lead to identifying the individual in question.

The thefts are the latest in a rising trend of so-called “porch pirates” who steal deliveries from homes, often shortly after they are dropped off by couriers.

The Needham Police Department advises residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
