FAIR HAVEN — Fair Haven Police arrested Payton M. Artt, a 24-year-old resident of Whitehall, New York, on Monday after discovering he was a wanted person.

At 4 p.m., officers pulled over Artt on South Main Street for speeding.

During the stop, they learned of an outstanding arrest warrant issued for Artt by the Hon.

Judge David Fenster of the Rutland District Court.

The warrant was a result of Artt’s failure to appear in court on Feb. 7 for prior charges of driving under the influence (DUI).

Chief William Humphries, the investigating officer, confirmed that Artt was taken into custody without incident and later released on a citation to appear in court on Monday.
