OAKHAM — Police arrested a suspect late Saturday night after responding to a report of a fight with gunshots on Edson Rd.
At approximately 10:08 p.m., officers from the Oakham, Barre, and Rutland police departments arrived at the scene to find that two shots had been fired during the altercation.
They quickly secured the area and took the suspect into custody without further incident.
A High Standard Derringer was recovered at the scene, with one live round and one spent round found in the chambers.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was transported to the Oakham Police Department for booking.
Bail was set at $5,000.
The suspect will remain in custody until bail is posted or they appear in court on Monday.
Authorities reported no injuries from the incident.
