Whitingham man charged with assault, firearm possession

READSBORO — A 56-year-old Whitingham man was arrested on Friday after police received a report of an active domestic assault in a vehicle.

Vermont State Police responded to Main Street in Readsboro on Feb. 24 at 4:39 p.m.

An investigation revealed Donald Holton had assaulted a family member and was in possession of a firearm despite being disqualified from doing so.

Holton was arrested and lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility without bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on Feb. 26 at 12:30 p.m. to answer charges of second-degree aggravated domestic assault and prohibited persons possessing firearms.
