NEW HAVEN — On Feb. 23, at approximately 5 p.m., law enforcement and emergency responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US RT 7 and Greenbush Rd.

According to the authorities, a Hyundai Genesis, operated by 35-year-old Anthony Perreault of Colchester, was traveling north on US RT 7.

At the same time, a Nissan Leaf, driven by 28-year-old Michael Cianciola, also from Colchester, was making a left-hand turn onto Greenbush Rd.

Perreault attempted to pass the Nissan on the right and in the process struck the rear end of Cianciola’s vehicle.

The impact caused Perreault’s Hyundai to come to an uncontrolled rest off the eastbound shoulder, while the Nissan ended in the breakdown lane on the same side.

The Ferrisburgh Fire Department responded to the scene along with Troopers.

Both vehicles, which were deemed totaled, were towed away by Snow and Tow LLC.

Despite the extensive damage to both vehicles, there were no injuries reported by either driver, both of whom were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.

The road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear.

The collision is currently under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward with information.
