Two arrested in Westford for illegal firearm possession, disturbance

WESTFORD — Police arrested two men early Saturday after responding to a disturbance involving a group fighting and brandishing firearms at a local apartment complex.

Officers were dispatched to Bell Westford Apartments at 1 Tech Valley Drive at 12:51 a.m. on reports of a brawl outside the building.

The caller informed the Westford Public Safety Communications dispatcher that she had seen at least two men with guns.

Upon arrival, police found several males in the parking lot who matched the descriptions provided.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Westford man and a 20-year-old from Fall River.

Neither suspect had a firearm license.

The two were charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, disturbing the peace, and underage possession of alcohol.

They are scheduled for arraignment at Ayer District Court on Monday.
