Boston police seek public’s help to identify armed robbery suspect

BOSTON — The Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in two armed robberies that occurred in the city’s South End.

The robberies took place on Wednesday, at about 5 p.m. near 470 Commonwealth Avenue and on Thursday, at about 9:15 p.m. near 324 Newbury Street.

The suspect is described as a thin-built white male, estimated to be between 40-50 years old, and was seen wearing a blue winter hat, black reading glasses, a green zippered coat, light beige pants, and gray sneakers during both incidents.

He was also carrying a large gray travel bag.

Authorities report that the suspect fled towards Boylston Street after both robberies and claimed to have a firearm, although no weapon was displayed.

Detectives from District D-4 (South End) are actively investigating the circumstances of the robberies and urge anyone with information to contact them at (617) 343-5619.

The identities of informants will be kept confidential by the Boston Police Department.
