DORCHESTER — A Dorchester man was arrested Tuesday night on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of 113 grams of narcotics.

At about 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 20, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) were patrolling near Columbia Road and Washington Street when they spotted a vehicle speeding and running a red light.

Hector Lara Cruz, 24, was pulled over by officers who activated their emergency lights and sirens.

Upon contact, Cruz was unable to provide a valid driver’s license.

After instructing Cruz to exit the vehicle, officers handcuffed him and conducted a search, which yielded a large bag suspected to contain drugs.

The search during the booking process revealed 67 individually wrapped bags of Fentanyl, totaling 80 grams, and another bag with 263 pills believed to be Percocet, weighing approximately 33 grams.

Cruz faces charges including trafficking of class A and class B substances, as well as unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

He is scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
