Corinth man charged with aggravated domestic assault, multiple violations of release conditions

CORINTH — A local resident was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, accused of second-degree aggravated domestic assault and multiple violations of conditions of release, according to Vermont State Police.

At approximately 1:06 p.m., troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were dispatched to a domestic incident at a Corinth residence.

Their investigation identified 38-year-old Jody Sears as the assailant in an assault against a household member.

Following the incident, Sears was arrested and processed at the Bradford Outpost of the Vermont State Police.

He was then lodged at Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury pending his court appearance.

Sears is expected to face charges in the Vermont Superior Court, Orange Criminal Division, on Feb. 23 at 12:30 p.m.
