James Lynn Schaff, 57, of Cambridge, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 after officers from District A-1 responded to a call at 103 Charles Street.

Following a report of a smashed window and a subsequent alarm at Thieves Next Door Jewelry Store at 53 Charles St, police were on high alert.

As officers conducted a search, they noticed a door slightly open at 15 Charles St and heard noises from within.

Inside, they discovered Schaff holding a brick, along with several stolen jewelry items.
