Providence woman arrested on multiple warrants, Cranston resident faces DUI charges

PROVIDENCE — In two separate incidents late last night, Rhode Island State Troopers made notable arrests in Providence. At 9:01 p.m., troopers apprehended Christine Hernandez, 41, of Providence, on multiple Superior Court bench warrants.

These warrants included failure to appear for presentment as a violator on charges of possession of a controlled substance Schedule I-V and a second offense of shoplifting, both originating from different police departments.

The arrest of Hernandez occurred following a vehicle stop on Cranston Street. After processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, she was taken to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.

In a separate incident at 11:50 p.m., Sierra Porter, 26, of Cranston, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence (second offense), refusal to submit to a chemical test (first offense), and reckless driving. Porter’s arrest resulted from troopers responding to a report of a wrong-way driver on Route 6.

After processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, Porter was arraigned and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
