Hooksett man charged with DUI following single-vehicle crash

HOOKSETT — A Hooksett man was arrested late Tuesday night on charges of driving under the influence after crashing his car on Martins Ferry Road.

Edward Groves, 60, was taken into custody following the accident, which occurred at approximately 9:49 p.m. near the intersection with Benton Road.

Officers responded to the scene after a 911 call reported the incident.

Officer Foley, upon arriving at the location, discovered a 2011 silver Toyota Camry and Groves with a head injury.

Hooksett Fire evaluated Groves at the scene.

During the initial investigation, Officer Foley observed signs of impairment in Groves, who refused to perform field sobriety tests.

Groves was arrested and charged with DUI.

After his arrest, Groves was transported to the Hooksett Police Department for booking and processing.

He was later released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Hooksett District Court on Thursday, Feb. 29, at 8:15 a.m.
