Concord pedestrian killed in early morning crash

CONCORD — A pedestrian was struck and killed in a traffic collision early Thursday morning on Fisherville Road.

According to the Concord Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. near 98 Fisherville Road.

Emergency responders from both the Concord Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Concord Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Officials are withholding the name of the deceased pending notification of next-of-kin.

Authorities closed Fisherville Road for several hours to gather evidence.

The road has since reopened.

The investigation into the crash is still active.

Concord Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
