SHELDON — A local woman was charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault following a joint investigation by the Vermont State Police and the Department for Children and Families (DCF) that began on Feb. 19 at 3:45 p.m.

Ashley Lieske, 36, of Sheldon, was accused of assaulting a juvenile family member the previous night.

The investigation was initiated after school staff from Missisquoi Valley Union (MVU) reported the incident to authorities.

Statements from the involved parties and the visible injuries to the victim led to Lieske’s arrest.

She was issued a citation to appear in Franklin Superior Court on Feb. 22.

The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim, in adherence to policies protecting the identities of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
