1 min read

NASHUA — Nashua Police Department officials reported yesterday that a single live ammunition round was discovered in a bathroom at Nashua High School North on Titan Way, triggering a lockdown as a precautionary measure.

The school administration, in coordination with security personnel, initiated the lockdown to ensure the safety of students and staff while officers responded to the scene.

To conduct a thorough search of the premises for any firearms, K9 units and officers from various jurisdictions were summoned due to the school’s extensive size.

After a complete search, authorities confirmed that no firearms or additional ammunition were found within the school or on its surrounding property.

Investigators also found no threatening notes, messages, or social media posts connected to the ammunition.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Division took over the investigation and identified a student responsible for bringing the ammunition to school.

The student admitted to finding the bullet off-campus and showing it to a peer, who then tried to dispose of it in a toilet, unsuccessfully.

At present, no criminal charges have been filed against either student, and the school administration will address the incident internally.

The Nashua Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Crime Line at (603)-589-1665.
