St. Johnsbury man arrested on 26 counts of forgery

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 37-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning on an active warrant for 26 counts of forgery, according to the St. Johnsbury Police Department.

Scott Mason of St. Johnsbury was taken into custody by Corporal George Johnson around 8:46 a.m. on Portland Street after being spotted leaving a residence.

Johnson, who recognized Mason from previous police interactions, was aware that Mason had an outstanding warrant from Essex County.

Mason was transported to a correctional facility where he was held on his warrant.

A court date has been scheduled for Feb. 20.
