Driver arrested for DUI after wrong-way crash on US Route 7 in Rutland

RUTLAND — A New York man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence after he drove the wrong way and crashed on US Route 7, Vermont State Police said.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks were dispatched at 8:01 p.m. to a report of a wrong-way driver in Wallingford.

En route to the scene, they learned the vehicle, driven by Michael Langlois, 56, of Peru, NY, had collided with another vehicle in Clarendon.

Upon arrival, Langlois exhibited signs of impairment and was taken into custody.

He was processed at the Rutland barracks and released with a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court Criminal Division on a later date to face DUI charges.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
