Three arrested in Rutland for grand larceny at local shopping plaza

RUTLAND — Vermont State Police arrested three men on charges of grand larceny following a theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods at a Rutland area shopping plaza.

On Feb. 12 at approximately 4:52 p.m., troopers responded to the reported theft where approximately $1,300 worth of products had been stolen from the store.

Through investigation, authorities identified Thomas Chionchio, 35, Keith Porter, 44, and Troy Golfin, 26, all reportedly transients, as the suspects in the theft.

Chionchio and Porter were located at the Cortina Inn and were taken into custody without incident.

They were processed at the Rutland Barracks and released on a citation to appear in court for the charge of grand larceny.

Golfin was apprehended two days later on Feb. 14.

After processing at the Rutland State Police Barracks, it was discovered that Golfin also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

He was issued a citation for the grand larceny charge and was transported to Marble Valley Regional Correctional Center where he was detained on the warrant.

The Vermont State Police continue to investigate the incident and urge anyone with additional information to come forward.
