Tewksbury man charged with fentanyl trafficking

TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus announced that the Tewksbury Police Department has arrested a Lynn man on charges of trafficking fentanyl and distributing a Class B substance.

Rusbel Agramonte Soto, 27, was apprehended following a traffic stop by the Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit on Feb. 14.

The stop occurred in the parking lot of a hotel on Andover Street, where detectives discovered 11 grams of fentanyl and 1.5 grams of crack cocaine.

Soto was taken into custody at the scene and faces charges for trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl and distribution of a Class B substance.

He was due for arraignment in Lowell District Court on Thursday.
