Nashua man charged with multiple felonies in domestic assault case

NASHUA — A Nashua man is facing a slew of felony and misdemeanor charges after being accused of assaulting his former partner and her juvenile son, according to local authorities.

The Nashua Police Department announced the arrest of 36-year-old Brandon Allen on multiple counts of assault and criminal mischief related to a domestic violence incident that occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Feb. 15.

Officers responded to a call for a domestic assault at a residence, where the victim reported that Allen, her former partner, had physically assaulted both her and her juvenile son during an altercation.

Detectives assigned to the case discovered Allen had allegedly assaulted the victim multiple times, including choking her to the point where she couldn’t breathe on two separate occasions, and had assaulted her son when he tried to intervene.

Additionally, Allen is accused of damaging property within the residence and preventing the victim from contacting police to report the incident.

After investigating the claims, officers arrested Allen at the scene.

He was charged with two counts of second-degree assault—domestic violence, a Class B felony; two counts of domestic violence—obstructing the report of a crime or injury, a Class A misdemeanor; seven counts of domestic violence—simple assault, a Class A misdemeanor; two counts of simple assault, a Class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor.

Allen refused bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the 9th Circuit Court – District Division – Nashua on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.
