BOSTON — Boston police arrested a man early Thursday in connection with a series of burglaries and package thefts in the Back Bay neighborhood.

Michael Vega, 41, was taken into custody at 2:37 a.m. at the intersection of Boylston Street and Ring Rd.

Officers from District D-4, on patrol due to recent break-ins, spotted Vega loitering in the Prudential Mall garage vestibule.

Knowing the mall’s strict no-trespassing policy, officers approached Vega for questioning.

Investigation revealed Vega had an outstanding felony warrant from the Brookline District Court for larceny from a building and attempted larceny.

He also matched the description of a suspect in a Bric BOLO flyer linked to other area burglaries and package thefts.

Vega was wearing a black beanie, dark gray jacket with a gray hoodie, blue pants, gray sneakers, and carried a black satchel bag, fitting the description on the BOLO flyer.
