Enosburg mailbox vandalized with irritant substance

ENOSBURG — On Feb. 12, Vermont State Police were called to Pleasant St after an unknown substance was found in a resident’s mailbox, causing a nosebleed when it blew into the victim’s face.

At around 3:45 p.m., Troopers from the St. Albans Barracks responded to the scene.

The Vermont HAZMAT team later determined that the substance was not hazardous following a careful examination.

Authorities are reaching out to the community for assistance in the investigation.

The motive behind the act of unlawful mischief remains unclear, and no suspects have been identified at this time.
