BOSTON — Boston Police officers from the Drug Control Unit of District C-11 arrested a Boston man on drug-related charges Friday afternoon following complaints from the community about the quality of life in the Bowdoin Street area.

At about 12:40 p.m., officers took Jammar Smith, 41, into custody as part of an ongoing investigation aimed at addressing concerns raised by residents and businesses in Dorchester.

The arrest occurred in the vicinity of 213 Bowdoin Street.

The District C-11 Community Service Office had collaborated with local community members to pinpoint the issues plaguing the neighborhood.

After a comprehensive investigation, officers identified Smith as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for the distribution of class B substances, specifically Crack Cocaine.

Smith is expected to face arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
