Burglars smash into Georgia Market, police seek information

GEORGIA — Troopers from the St. Albans barracks responded to a pre-dawn burglary at Georgia Market on Feb. 11.

Authorities were dispatched around 4:33 a.m. to the market located at 962 Ethan Allen Highway after a report of a break-in.

Upon arrival, the troopers conducted a security sweep but did not find any suspects on the premises.

The investigation revealed that the glass door of the market had been smashed, allowing unauthorized entry, and several items were reported missing.

Surveillance footage indicated that two male subjects forced their way into the store using a hatchet at approximately 4:18 a.m.

The Vermont State Police are in the process of reviewing additional security footage and will release images to aid in identifying the suspects as they become available.
