Orange snowmobile crash results in fatality

ORANGE — Yesterday a tragic snowmobile accident claimed the life of Jeremy Farnham, a 40-year-old resident of Williamstown.

The Vermont State Police responded to the crash on the VAST trail near Tucker Road and Hideaway Drive in Orange at approximately 9:11 p.m.

The initial report indicated a snowmobile crash with serious injuries, and emergency responders were performing CPR upon their arrival.

Farnham was operating a 2007 Skidoo Rotax 600 HD SDI when he reportedly failed to negotiate a left turn, leading to the accident.

The snowmobile suffered significant front-end damage. Despite the efforts of emergency medical services, Farnham’s injuries were fatal.

He was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, where he was pronounced dead.

The area experienced clear weather conditions, but the roads were covered in snow and ice, adding to the hazardous conditions.
