DENNIS — A Dennis man was arrested early Wednesday morning after being accused of stealing construction materials from a local building site.

Sergeant Tyler Vermette and Officer Jessica Ferreira responded to a call at about 3:30 a.m. regarding a disabled car in a new housing development off Route 137.

The vehicle owner, later identified as Scott Baker, 58, had requested police assistance to locate his position for a tow truck.

Upon arrival, Officer Ferreira discovered Baker’s truck mired in the mud at a construction site driveway.

Investigation revealed a quantity of Azek trim boards in the truck’s bed that matched those from a recently disturbed pile on the property.

Tracks in the fresh snow confirmed the materials had been taken from the site.

A representative for the construction company confirmed the Azek belonged to the builder.

Baker was arrested and charged with larceny under $1200.

He was processed at the stationhouse and held for a court appearance later that morning, Lieutenant Aram Goshgarian reported.
