Auburn man arrested for stealing car from local driveway

AUBURN — A 39-year-old Auburn man was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly stealing a car from a driveway in the Oxford Street North area.

Auburn Police Officers responded to the call at approximately 8 a.m. when the vehicle owner reported their car had been taken within the last few minutes.

A Be On the Look Out alert was issued to neighboring departments while officers from the Patrol Division and Detective Bureau began searching the area.

Officer K. Perrault spotted the stolen vehicle parked in a business lot on Sword Street at about 8:06 a.m. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers found Brian Sarkissian of Auburn inside.

Sarkissian was arrested and charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and use without authority.

Following his arraignment in Worcester District Court on Tuesday morning, Sarkissian was released.
