Woman arrested for vehicle theft, violation of release conditions in Lyndon

LYNDON — A woman was apprehended by Essex County Sheriff’s deputies in connection with a vehicle theft and multiple violations of her release conditions, police said.

Gina Barrett, 30, was arrested on Feb. 7 at around 6:42 p.m. in Concord after authorities located her on a warrant related to the October incident, along with other charges.

According to the St. Johnsbury Barracks troopers, Barrett was initially involved in the theft of a motor vehicle belonging to 66-year-old Peter Boyle of Brookfield.

The incident occurred on High St in Lyndon on Oct. 23 at approximately 1:43 p.m.

Investigating officers determined that Barrett had violated the conditions of her release twice and operated the vehicle without the owner’s consent.

The circumstances leading to her February arrest were not immediately disclosed.

Further details on Barrett’s charges and the status of the stolen vehicle were not provided in the report.

The case remains under investigation by Vermont State Police.
