Pownal man’s death ruled a homicide after autopsy

POWNAL — An autopsy completed late Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 7, on a Pownal man who died Tuesday determined he was a victim of a homicide, according to Vermont State Police.

Casey Gras, 36, of Bennington, was found with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and chest.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington conducted the autopsy and confirmed the cause and manner of Gras’ death.

The crime scene on Chickadee Drive, where the stabbing occurred, is still under investigation by the Vermont State Police and their Crime Scene Search Team.

While no arrests have been made, investigators are actively pursuing leads.

Authorities are seeking assistance from the public.
