LYNDON — A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 North near mile marker 142 resulted in serious injuries for a Brownington man on Nov. 18.

At around 11:59 a.m., St. Johnsbury Barracks troopers, along with CALEX Ambulance, responded to the scene to find a 2020 Chevy Silverado with substantial front end and undercarriage damage.

The driver, 40-year-old William Inglis, of Brownington, was seriously injured and transported to Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital for treatment.

The investigation revealed that Inglis failed to maintain his lane, causing the vehicle to exit the road and strike a rock embankment.

The Chevy came to an uncontrolled rest on the east side of the road.

Authorities determined that alcohol played a role in the accident.

Inglis has since been issued a criminal citation for DUI #1 and is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Criminal Court on March 25 at 8:30 a.m.
