Winooski man arrested on warrant after traffic stop

WINOOSKI — A routine traffic stop for speeding led to an arrest on an active warrant early Monday morning.

At approximately 12:29 a.m., a Vermont State Police trooper from the Williston barracks pulled over a vehicle on E Allen Street for a speeding violation.

The driver, identified as 32-year-old Isaiah Velasquez of Barre, was found to have an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court related to a DUI charge.

Following the discovery of the warrant, Velasquez was issued a citation and released.

He is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on Feb. 6 at 8:30 a.m. to address the warrant and the failure to appear charge.
