Boston drug control units arrest two in Mass and Cass operation

BOSTON — Boston police arrested two individuals on Jan. 30 on charges related to drug trafficking following an operation in the Mass and Cass area.

Jekis Aguavivas Mendes, 39, of Dorchester, and Waily Reyes, 26, of Jamaica Plain, were taken into custody after officers observed them engaging in what appeared to be a drug transaction.

During a traffic stop of Mendes, officers recovered 19 plastic bags of Fentanyl, weighing 24 grams, 12 plastic bags of crack-cocaine, weighing 8 grams, and $2,180 in cash.

A separate stop of Reyes led to the confiscation of 10 plastic bags of Fentanyl, weighing 13 grams, seven plastic bags of crack-cocaine, weighing 5 grams, and $139 in cash.

Mendes is facing charges including trafficking in Class A drugs, distribution of Class A and Class B drugs, and possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs.

Reyes is expected to be charged with trafficking Class A drugs and possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs.

Both suspects are expected to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court.
