KILLINGTON — A Connecticut man was arrested early Saturday morning following incidents of domestic assault and driving under the influence.

Vermont State Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded at 1:27 a.m. to a report of an assault on E Mountain Road.

The accused, Gregory Pillon, 48, of Collinsville, had already fled the scene when authorities arrived.

Troopers determined that Pillon committed 2nd Degree Domestic Assault against a family or household member and Simple Assault against Michael Valeggia, 47, of Canton.

Later, at approximately 3:37 a.m., troopers from the Westminster Barracks were dispatched to a crash on Interstate 91 near mile marker 1.8 in Guilford.

Pillon was identified as the driver of a 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class with minor front-end damage.

He reportedly lost control of his vehicle, which led to it getting stuck in the median.

Pillon showed several signs of impairment during the crash investigation and was taken into custody for Driving Under the Influence.

He was processed at the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
