LYNDONVILLE — A traffic violation led to the arrest of a Sutton woman on charges of identity theft, providing false information to law enforcement, and driving under the influence, police said.

Sheila Conley, 42, was stopped by a Lyndonville Police Department officer around 11:28 a.m. on Memorial Drive after committing a motor vehicle violation on Back Center Road.

During the stop, authorities discovered Conley was allegedly impersonating another individual, Katy Deth of Lyndon, and exhibited signs of impairment.

Following the investigation, Conley was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, identity theft, and providing false information to law enforcement officials.

She was later released to a sober adult, and the vehicle involved was grounded.

Conley is scheduled to be arraigned at the Caledonia Superior Court on Feb. 12 at 8:30 a.m.
