MEDFORD — After hours of investigation, authorities have declared the area around the Condon Shell safe following concerns about a suspicious device found earlier today.

The Medford Police, alongside the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad, responded to reports of a suspicious object in the vicinity of the popular outdoor venue.

The area was cordoned off as the Bomb Squad conducted a thorough examination of the device.

As of 3:15 p.m., officials have announced that the item in question was deemed inert and has been safely removed from the site.

All units have cleared the scene, and the previous advisories to avoid the area have been lifted.
