St. Albans man faces DUI, disorderly conduct charges after incident at school

BERKSHIRE — Vermont State Police arrested a St. Albans man on multiple charges, including DUI drugs and cruelty to a child, following a report of a possibly intoxicated driver leaving Berkshire Elementary School with a child on Feb. 3.

Nathan Gaudette, 34, was located by troopers at Sheldon Elementary School after police received the initial report at around 10:13 a.m.

According to authorities, Gaudette exhibited tumultuous and profane behavior on school premises and showed signs of impairment.

After confirming that Gaudette had been driving with a child in the vehicle, he was apprehended and taken to the State Police barracks in St. Albans for processing.

Gaudette was cited for DUI drug, disorderly conduct, and cruelty to a child.

He was released to a sober adult later that day.
