Man charged with aggravated sexual assault in Nashua

NASHUA — A Lewiston man was arrested on multiple charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault following an investigation by local authorities and the Special Investigations Division.

On Nov. 24, an adult female reported a sexual assault to officers, stating that she knew the assailant, identified as Borges, before the incident occurred.

The investigation led detectives to obtain an arrest warrant for Borges, who now faces three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, a special felony carrying a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

Additionally, Borges was charged with a Class A misdemeanor for illegally recording the incident without the victim’s consent, according to Nashua Police.

Borges was apprehended on Jan. 25 by the Lewiston Police Department on a warrant issued by Nashua Police and was subsequently extradited to New Hampshire on Thursday.

He was held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections in Manchester on preventative detention.

His arraignment took place on Friday at the 9th Circuit – District Division – Nashua Court.
