WORCESTER — Two men faced arraignment in Worcester Superior Court this week on a litany of charges including child rape and sex trafficking, authorities reported.

Michael J. LaMountain, 41, of Oxford, and Jalen Latimer, 25, who resides in Rhode Island according to court documents, were arraigned Monday following a Jan. 26 indictment by a Worcester County grand jury.

LaMountain is charged with 64 counts related to the rape of three children, while Latimer faces several similar charges.

The charges against LaMountain include 21 counts of child rape, eight counts of trafficking a person under 18 for sexual servitude, and multiple counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, among others.

Latimer’s charges comprise three counts of child rape and one count of trafficking a person under 18 for sexual servitude, among others.

Allegations against LaMountain suggest he sexually assaulted three children in Worcester County between 2021 and 2023, with two victims aged between 12 and 16, and one under 12.

Police claim LaMountain recorded some assaults and showed the footage to one of the victims.

Latimer is accused of raping one child under age 12.

The two men are alleged to have raped a child with the same initials on July 7, in a Worcester County town.

Details are withheld to protect the identities of the victims, and the crimes did not involve abductions.

Latimer was previously released from Rhode Island custody after posting bond on a child pornography charge.

He is not listed as a sex offender in Rhode Island.

LaMountain, also not a registered sex offender in Massachusetts, is being held without bail and faces a dangerousness hearing Thursday.

LaMountain has been in jail since his September 2023 arraignment on related charges, which were dismissed upon his indictment into a higher court.

Latimer’s bail is set at $20,000 cash, with conditions including GPS monitoring and no unsupervised contact with children under 16, if released.

Both the Rhode Island Attorney General’s office and the office of Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. have not commented on the case.

Court-appointed lawyers for the defendants have not provided comments as of Thursday.

LaMountain also pleaded guilty to vehicle and trespassing charges in January, and has an open case related to a theft in June 2023.
