Two arrested for drug possession, DUI on I-91in Rockingham

ROCKINGHAM — Troopers with the Vermont State Police arrested two Massachusetts residents on charges of drug possession and driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Interstate 91 northbound near mile marker 36 at 5:25 p.m. on Feb. 1.

During the patrol for traffic enforcement, troopers noticed a vehicle operated by Montel Harris, 28, of Holyoke, speeding through the 65 mph zone.

Upon stopping the vehicle, an object was seen being discarded from the car.

The item was retrieved and presumed to contain illegal drugs.

Harris, along with passenger Tatiana Rivera, 25, of Westfield, were taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and for possession of fentanyl and cocaine.

They were transported to the Westminster Barracks for processing.

Following their arrest, Harris and Rivera were issued citations to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division the following day, Feb. 2, at 12:30 p.m.

Both were lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility after processing was completed.
