MIDDLESEX — A fire that engulfed a home on Lower Sunny Brook Road early Thursday morning has left a resident with more than $100,000 in losses, officials said.

Jillian Pierce, 29, of Middlesex, watched as firefighters battled the flames that had taken over her property.

The Middlesex Fire Department received the call at 6:27 p.m. Wednesday and arrived shortly after to find the rear of the structure ablaze, with fire quickly advancing toward the front.

Fire Chief’s on-scene evaluation prompted a call for the Department of Public Safety Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit to help determine the fire’s origin and cause.

However, investigators were unable to ascertain the cause due to the extensive damage.

The home was deemed a total loss.
