Man faces drug charges after traffic stop in Westminster

WESTMINSTER — A Bellows Falls man was arrested on drug possession charges after a traffic violation led to a stop on US Route 5.

Lucas Bertolini, 37, was taken into custody on Feb. 2 at 1:22 p.m. following a routine traffic stop by troopers from the Westminster Barracks.

During the stop, Bertolini, a passenger in the vehicle and on probation, was found in possession of a controlled substance and cocaine.

Following the discovery, Bertolini was transported to the Westminster Barracks for processing.

He was subsequently lodged and taken to the Southern State Correctional Facility by Probation and Parole for a probation violation.

Bertolini is scheduled to appear in the Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on March 26 at 8:30 a.m. to face the charges.
