West Springfield police raid spa on suspicion of sex trafficking, prostitution

WEST SPRINGFIELD — In a coordinated effort with Homeland Security Investigation, the West Springfield Police Department’s Detective Bureau conducted a raid on a local spa suspected of illegal activities including sex trafficking and prostitution on Jan. 31 at noon.

The search warrant for Clover Spa Inc., located at 68 Westfield St., was the culmination of a months-long investigation into the business’s operations.

Authorities were investigating allegations that the spa was involved in the sex trafficking of individuals, deriving financial support from prostitution, and maintaining a house of prostitution.

During the raid, law enforcement officials found three women, ranging in age from 35 to 51, from Flushing and Brooklyn, New York, along with a 23-year-old local man.

All individuals present at the spa were cooperative with the investigators, according to police reports.

The names of the individuals have not been released, and no formal charges have been announced as of yet.

However, the police have indicated that criminal charges are pending as the investigation continues.

The West Springfield Police Department emphasized that this is an active investigation and further details will be provided as they become available.

Community members are encouraged to come forward with any information that may assist in the ongoing case.
