QUINCY — Two motor vehicle accidents occurred within minutes of each other yesterday afternoon, prompting responses from local emergency services.

The first incident happened around 2:49 p.m. when a vehicle exiting Wendy’s Restaurant on Newport Avenue struck another vehicle, causing it to flip onto its side.

Quincy Police, Fire Department, and Brewster EMS were on the scene to assist.

The driver emerging from Wendy’s received a citation for failure to yield and an improper turn.

Despite the dramatic nature of the crash, all individuals involved declined medical treatment, and both vehicles were towed.

Shortly after, at about 3:12 p.m., a red Jeep veered off Burgin Parkway onto Quincy Street, driving over a traffic island and colliding with the back wall of Triangle Transmission at 62 Liberty St.

The impact caused significant damage, with the vehicle breaching the building’s exterior.

The driver, potentially experiencing a medical episode at the time of the crash, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

No criminal charges have been announced.

Quincy Building Department officials examined the structural integrity of the affected business.

The Quincy Police Department has issued a reminder to all drivers to operate vehicles with caution, emphasizing the importance of avoiding distractions, wearing seat belts, and being prepared for unexpected actions from other road users.

The investigations into both accidents are ongoing, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
