Elderly driver crashes into pizza shop, sustains injuries

HUDSON — Hudson emergency crews responded to an incident where a vehicle crashed into Mickey’s Pizza on Lowell Road Wednesday at about 1:40 p.m.

Hudson Police and firefighters arrived to find the vehicle’s driver, an elderly woman, trapped inside her car.

Firefighters quickly worked to extricate 82-year-old Helen Gosselin of Hudson from the Buick Encore she was driving.

The investigation revealed that Gosselin’s vehicle was heading south on Lowell Road when it veered off the road and struck the northern side of Mickey’s NY Pizza Restaurant.

Although the restaurant was open at the time of the crash, no customers were harmed.

Gosselin was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The impact caused structural damage to Mickey’s Pizza, leading to its closure until further repairs can be made.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
