Medford police investigate evening gunfire

MEDFORD — Police in Medford are investigating after reports of gunfire rang out Monday evening, with no injuries currently reported.

At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 29, the Medford Emergency Communications Center received a call about potential shots fired near Ship Avenue and Marine Street.

Officers from the Medford Police Department, along with the Massachusetts State Police, responded promptly to the scene to conduct an investigation.

Two individuals were seen fleeing the area when law enforcement arrived, officials said.

A firearm was later found on the ground close to where the shots were reportedly fired.

Authorities have not made any arrests and are working to identify those involved in the incident.

The Medford Police Department is calling on the public for assistance.
