MANCHESTER — Two juveniles were arrested early Tuesday morning after attempting to steal a car on Country Club Drive.

Manchester Police received a call around 2:30 a.m. from a witness who reported seeing two individuals dressed in all black, cleaning off a car and attempting to get inside.

The suspects were also seen checking a second vehicle to see if it was unlocked before returning to the first car.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered a blue Hyundai Elantra with the passenger door ajar and snow cleared away in the parking lot.

They followed fresh footprints in the snow to a nearby building where they found two juveniles in the vestibule.

After an investigation, the police identified the two as the suspects who had been inside the Hyundai.

They are being charged with Criminal Mischief and Theft by Unauthorized Taking (Attempted).

The city has seen a rise in car thefts in recent weeks.

Authorities remind residents to lock their doors and consider using surveillance cameras.
