Berlin man arrested for DUI, leaving scene of crash

BERLIN — Vermont State Police arrested a Berlin man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and other offenses following a vehicle crash on Jan. 30.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to a call at 11:30 a.m. about a motor vehicle crash on W Corinth Road.

Upon arrival, they found one vehicle attempting to leave the scene.

The operator, later identified as 39-year-old Allen Ballou of Berlin, was being evaluated by EMS.

During the interaction with Ballou, troopers observed signs of impairment.

He was taken into custody and transported to the State Police Berlin Barracks for processing on charges of DUI Drugs, leaving the scene of an accident (LSA), and operating with a criminally suspended license (DLS).

Ballou was issued a citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court—Criminal Division and was later released.
