SQUANTUM — Officers from the Quincy Police Department successfully located a missing elderly man with dementia early Monday morning after he wandered away from his home in Squantum.

The police were dispatched to the residence around 3:40 a.m. after receiving a report of the missing individual.

Officer Clifford arrived first to collect information from the family, who discovered their loved one was missing when they woke up.

Despite a thorough search of the home yielding no results, Officer Harrington found the elderly man at the intersection of Bellevue Road and Seal Rock Lane.

The man had several injuries indicative of a fall, including bleeding on his hands and elbows.

Harrington, concerned for the man’s well-being in the frigid temperatures, provided immediate assistance and waited with him until Brewster EMS arrived on the scene.

The individual was subsequently transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Milton for medical attention.
