Pedestrian struck in hit-and-run, Longmeadow police seek suspect vehicle

LONGMEADOW — Police responded to a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of Bliss Road and Laurel Street at approximately 5:41 p.m. where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the crosswalk.

The vehicle involved fled the scene before officers arrived.

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Authorities are on the lookout for a gray SUV or minivan that is suspected to have been traveling westbound on Bliss Road before making a right turn onto Laurel Street and hitting the pedestrian.

Local law enforcement is actively canvassing the area for any leads and is urging members of the community to come forward with information.

Residents with home surveillance systems are encouraged to review their footage for potential evidence.
