Walden man cited for damaging farming equipment

WALDEN — Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were called to a citizen dispute on VT RT 15 on Jan. 7 at 10:56 a.m., where they discovered that 35-year-old Bruce Melendy of Danville had allegedly damaged farming equipment owned by 83-year-old Norbert Rowell of Walden.

During the investigation, it was determined that Melendy had caused damage to Rowell’s property.

Following the incident, authorities located Melendy and issued him a citation for unlawful mischief.

Melendy is scheduled to appear in court to face the charge and has been released pending his court appearance.

The extent of the damage to the farming equipment was not immediately disclosed, and further details surrounding the dispute have not been released.
